The Wilder Apartments were built in 1928 and are listed on the National Register. The building is comprised of 14 studios and six one-bedroom units. Much restoration work has been done on the building including refinishing of all hardwood floors, new kitchen linoleum to match original, and schoolhouse fixtures in all hallways. Other upgrades include a private garden for east side ground floor residents, new perimeter landscaping with automatic sprinklers, restoration of the front façade roof with mission tile, and a new onsite boiler and “on demand” water heater.
All units feature original hardwood flooring, 1-inch hexagonal porcelain tiles with a blue border in bathrooms, original wall telephones connected to an intercom with the entry directory. Each phone includes a button which opens the front door to confirmed visitors. There is a separate ground floor laundry room with 2 sets of washers and dryers. Wall mounted lockable bike racks are also provided.
